John Francis Bongiovi Jr., born March 2, 1962, known professionally as “Jon Bon Jovi,” is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor. He is known for being the founder and leader of the rock band Bon Jovi, formed in 1983. He has released 15 studio albums with his band and two solo albums.
Married since 1989 and with four children, he starred in the 1990s in Moonlight and Valentino and U-571 and appeared on television in Sex and the City, Ally McBeal, and The West Wing.
As a songwriter, Bon Jovi was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2012, he ranked number 50 on Billboard magazine’s “Power 100” list, a ranking “The Most Powerful and Influential People in the Music Business.” 
In addition to all this, Bon Jovi was a founder and former majority owner of the Arena Football League team, the Philadelphia Soul. He is the founder of The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, created in 2006 and established his Sanctuary Sound recording studio in the basement of his home in Rumson, New Jersey.
