East Jersey Old Town Village, A Hidden Gem Must-Visit in Piscataway, NJ.

The East Jersey Old Town Village is home to 16 historic buildings, all of which were saved from being demolished by Dr. Joseph Kler and a group of local residents. Each building has been carefully reassembled and restored to replicate how it would have looked hundreds of years ago. As you wander through the village, you can check out the 17th century architecture. It’s like stepping back in time!

East Jersey Old Town Village was founded in 1971 by Dr. Joseph Kler. With a passion for preserving history, he had these structures picked up and relocated to the park so they could be restored and showcased. These buildings have kept their historic charm and are complete with furniture and decorations that date back to the time period in which they were first built. While exploring the village, visitors will find amazing artifacts like muskets and tools on display inside of each building that bring life to their stories.

The most impressive part of the East Jersey Old Town Village is seeing reenactors dressed in full costume demonstrating what life was like during those times. You can even witness one of these demonstrations yourself if you happen to swing by during certain times of day or special events taking place there each month. The staff also provides guided tours throughout the village as well as educational programs for students of all ages focused around New Jersey’s rich history.
